Last year, there was a request to rezone land on Route 15 from commercial to industrial. The application was denied. Many residents showed up at the hearing. Without proper planning, the future of Rush can be altered in many ways, costing residents money and losing our rural charm that so many have stated as being their reason for living and/or moving to this town.
A pro-active, not re-active, approach by your town government is needed. It has been 20 years since we’ve had a comprehensive plan for our town. It’s long overdue.
Several years ago, several hundred homes were proposed to be built behind the town hall on the lower fields looking from Rush West Rush Rd. The Hanson re-zoning application was denied and since then, the area has been flooded and the illegal sign still stands. The new fields behind town hall have flooded many times and will continue to do so.
